Day 4 - Holy Desires

Audio

Galatians 5:24 “Those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires.”

When we belong to Christ, our desires should no longer be controlled by the flesh or shaped by the world. The cross reminds us that Jesus surrendered Himself completely for us. Therefore, we are called to surrender our own desires to Him. Holiness begins in the heart. What we desire shapes what we think, choose, and ultimately become. The world may change, but God’s Word does not. We must continually ask ourselves: Are my desires being shaped by Christ or by the world?

To crucify the flesh means refusing to let selfish desires, anger, bitterness, pride, or worldly passions rule our lives. Instead, we choose to desire what pleases Christ—to know Him, obey Him, love others, forgive, and become more like Him. As long as we live, may the desire to live for Christ burn within us.

**Reflection:**What desire is controlling my heart today? Is it something that pleases Christ?

**Application:**Bring your strongest desires before God today and surrender them to Him. Ask Him to give you a heart that desires what He desires.
